Founded in 1993 and affiliated to SCASA, MCASA and the RLSS, Griffins Swimming Club runs a number of Sections for swimmers of different ages and abilities. A number of pools in and around the North London boroughs of Barnet and Enfield are employed.
Each squad has a committment level by which we seek to recognize the balance required to compete at top level, whilst recognizing the academic and social pressures today's swimmers face. Our aim is to have each swimmer compete at the level that is appropriate for their stage of development, starting with ‘in house’ galas, moving through Borough, County & Open 'meets' to District & National Competition. As a team, we compete successfully in both the Speedo Junior League (M11) & the Speedo London League.
Griffins Swimming Club is run by a Club Committee.
The Club's coaches are all qualified with A.S.A. Coaching or Teaching Diplomas and/or with National Pool Lifeguard Qualifications. Several of the squads have Assistant Coaches, these are also qualified, or in the process of doing so. Many of the coaches are ‘home grown’, having come through the Club ranks from being youngsters in the Teaching Section to senior swimmers themselves.

Griffins Swimming Club Coaching Team (2007)
Griffins Swimming Club has an excellent tradition of encouraging swimmers to take up teaching or coaching and put back into the sport something of what they have gained themselves; we run courses to give them the necessary qualifications. This benefits those going into higher education, giving them a means to supplement their income. Others often follow through and make sports teaching or coaching a main career choice.
